Salon
With a 1,000 square foot footprint, 15' ceilings, and an open canvas to create a boutique salon for a young hair stylist trained at Vidal Sassoon. It needed to be clean, contemporary, and support the simple guidelines of Vidal, credited with creating "simple geometric hair styles working with the individual features and needs of each client". The studio is a geometric backdrop for her work. Clean walls, proper lighting, sun shading and ergonomic furnishings were carefully considered in the design. Clouds floated below exposed structure provide indirect and even lighting to the studio. Hair blowers are mounted to drop from the ceilings above the stylist stations to prevent fatigue. Finishes were selected with the client to ensure the color palette would complete the neutral setting for her work.
